Seward County wins 73-61 at Northwest Kansas

GOODLAND, Kan. - Seward County Community College defeats Northwest Kansas Technical College 73-61 in Goodland, Kansas on Monday night. The Saints get back to .500 on the year at 6-6 on the season and 4-4 in conference play. Seward County was led by Wilson Dubinsky with a career-high 27 points and four rebounds in the win. The Saints will compete next in Bradenton, Florida on December 29th against Polk State College at 5 PM.

In the first half, the Saints went on a 16-4 run to take a 19-9 lead over the Mavericks. Northwest Kansas responded with a 9-0 run to cut the lead down to 19-18. Wilson Dubinsky went on a 6-0 run with back-to-back threes and gave the Saints a 25-18 advantage. The Mavericks once again responded with a 10-0 run to take a 28-25 lead with 2:48 left in the half. Ahamadou Sillah closed out the first half for Seward County with a pair of threes to give the Saints a 31-28 lead over the Mavericks at halftime.

Both teams started the second half trading off leads and with 12:46 left in the game the score was tied at 46 all. The Saints faced their largest deficit of the game at the 7:28 mark in the second half. Seward County went on a 13-0 run and took the lead for the final time of the contest at 60-52 after a dunk by Kevon Cooper. Erik Pratt connected on two straight threes to give the Saints a 66-55 advantage in the final two minutes. Seward county held on to win 73-61 over Northwest Kansas Technical College on Monday night. 

Wilson Dubinsky has career-high 27 points on nine threes which are second in program history. Erik Pratt added 16 points and Ahamadou Sillah had a season-high 10 points in his starting role.

The Saints will travel to Bradenton, Florida to take on Polk State College at 5 PM on December 29th.
