The Saints set season record in points with a 122-69 win over Northwest

GOODLAND, Kan.- Seward County Community College men's basketball jumped up early on Northwest Kansas Technical College and never looked back defeating the Mavericks 122-69. The Saints recorded their season-high in total points, the previous season-high was 115 against Lamar Community College JV. Unfortunately, Hutchinson Community College defeated Barton Community College 96-91 in overtime, to claim the fourth spot in the West. Seward will be on the road for the first round of the Region VI Tournament, with the opponent to be determined.

Once again, the Saints had players out for the game and went with a new line-up and the Saints stepped up in their new roles ready to play. In the first ten minutes, the Saints claimed their dominance as they took a 30-10 lead, with back to back threes by Ramiro Santiago at the 10:26 mark.

At halftime, Seward took a commanding 63-30 lead over Northwest and their offense had its options from post players to perimeter shooters getting their opportunities. Seward jumped up to an 81-49 lead after an off the backboard dunk by Roy Clarke with 12:17 left to play.

The Saints shot 64% from the field, shot 62% from behind the three-point line and made a season-high 18 threes. Seward also outrebounded Northwest 47-22 on their way to the road victory.

The Mavericks were led by CJ Rosser with 16 points and one assist. Justin Berry, Reece Warren, and Keyshawn Kennedy all added 10 points apiece for the Mavericks.

Seward had six players in double digits and was paced by Roy Clarke with 19 points. Rostyslav Novitskyi had 19 points, Ramiro Santiago and Kyle Cardaci added 17 points. Ahmed Ibrahim had his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds and Greg Johnson added 10 points as well.

The Saints travel to Hutchinson Community College to take on the Blue Dragons at 7:30 PM for their final regular-season game.
