*KJCCC Player of the Week (February 4-10, 2013)

 Freshman (2013): Thompson was a regular in the Saints lineup in 2013, playing in 52 games as a freshman, hitting .259 with 6 doubles and 17 RBI's.  Thompson got his Seward career off to a spectacular start, collecting a pair of multi-hit games in the opening week of the season against Northeastern to earn himself KJCCC Player of the Week.  He would go on to finish his freshman season with eight multi-hit affairs including a three hit game against Frank Phillips in mid-March.  He had two different five game hit streaks during the year.  His first came in early March while his other came two weeks later which included the 3 hit, 2 RBI game against Frank Phillips.  He played in all seven Seward playoff games in 2013, drawing four starts and collecting four hits, none bigger than a game winning RBI single in the 11th inning of the Saints 7-6 win over Kansas City Kansas in the Region VI Tournament quarterfinal.

High School: Thompson became the first Saint from Wyoming in recent years after joining Seward from Cheyenne where he played for the Cheyenne Mustangs and Coach Todd Hall.  With no high school baseball in Wyoming, Thompson played for the Mustangs during the summer, hitting .452 with 25 doubles and 2 home runs, driving in 50 runs.  Also a speedster on the bases, Thompson stole 24 bases in 25 attempts.  Baseball is in Thompson's blood and comes natural to him as his father Rick played at the University of Wyoming in Laramie.  He has two brothers, Trey (17) and Brett (13).
