No. 3 Lady Saints defeat Dodge City on the road

DODGE CITY, Kan. – The No. 3 Seward County Community College volleyball team continued its winning ways with a straight-sets victory at Dodge City Community College, 25-15, 25-11, and 25-16, on Wednesday. The Lady Saints improved to 12-0 in the Jayhawk Conference, extending its conference play winning streak to 51 games, and 21-2 overall.


The first set the Lady Saints would start slow and the Conquistadors would battle early on as the Lady Saints led 11-10. With a timeout by Coach Trifonov the Lady Saints would come out and win 14 out of the last 19 points.


After taking a one-set lead the Lady Saints would come out with extra motivation and work quickly. Lady Saints would take the second set 25-11, to take a 2-set lead over Dodge City.


Entering the third set the Lady Saints would have some uncharacteristic mistakes and had a season-high with 12 ball hitting errors for the entire match. With those mistakes the Lady Saints still able to get under control to win the third and final set 25-16.


The Lady Saints return home to host Barton Community College for "Dig Pink" night at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Greenhouse. "Dig Pink" is a night dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness with donations to the cause that will being accepted throughout the match.
