Lespes signs with Georgia Gwinnett College

LIBERAL, Kan. - Seward County Community College held a signing ceremony for Justine Lespes as she signed to continue her academic and tennis career at Georgia Gwinnett College. Lespes has been a part of the women's tennis program for the last two years and has competed at the top of the lineup for both singles and doubles.

Lespes helped the Saints to a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament in the spring of 2021 in Mesa, Arizona. This past fall Lepses also made a run in the fall singles tournament and made it to Nationals in Rome, Georgia. Lespes defeated Cowley in the Regional Championship to receive a ticket to the National Tournament and entered as the No. 3 seed upsetting Tyler Junior College Martins to make it to the Championship match. Lespes fell in three sets to TJC's Anzalotta who is ranked first in the nation, and Lespes is ranked 2nd in the Nation which is the highest ranking in programs history for a singles player.

The Saints are currently No. 5 in the nation with an 8-2 record and will have a tough conference match-up next weekend as they take on No. 4 Cowley College. Lespes will compete against the Tigers No. 1 in both singles, and doubles next weekend. We will continue to see her compete here and finish out the semester but we are excited to see her move on to her four-year college for tennis and academics.
