Lady Saints Drop Third Straight
The 4th ranked Seward County Lady Saints April struggles continued Friday in Wichita Falls, Texas as they dropped an 8-1 decision to Division II #20 Midwestern State to lose their third straight match to fall to 17-4 on the year.
The Lady Saints didn't fare well in doubles play, losing 8-3, 8-5, and 8-2 decisions down the board to fall behind the Mustangs right off the bat 3-0.
It didn't get much prettier for the gals in green during singles play as Midwestern State clinched the match win with 6-1, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1 wins at #3 and #4 to go in front of Seward 5-0. Another Mustang win at #1 stretched their lead to 6-0 before Seward got their only win of the match at #2 as Thalita Rodrigues earned a three set victory to finish off an 8-1 Midwestern victory.
Seward loses their third straight to fall to 17-4 on the year while Midwestern improves to 14-5 with the victory.
The Lady Saints will continue their road swing to Wichita Falls, Texas with a battle against #17 Cameron Saturday.
