After being a surprising omission from the 1st Team All-Jayhawk West team in early May, Seward County sophomore outfielder Andrea Sitter got a bit of a consolation on Monday as she was named to the NFCA All-West Region 2nd Team as announced by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association.

For the third time in four seasons, the Seward County Lady Saints season came to an end in the Region VI Championship game Sunday afternoon at Wilkins Stadium in Wichita as after falling to Butler earlier in the day 8-3 and then working their way back to the title game with a 5-2 win over Barton, Seward fell flat against the rival Grizzlies in the Championship game, falling 15-4 to end their season.

Seward County ace Katelyn Craker used her left arm to keep rival Garden City at bey for 6 2/3 innings Saturday afternoon in the Region VI Tournament in Wichita’s Wilkins Stadium. Lady Saints centerfielder Andrea Sitter used her left arm to get the final out, gunning down the would be tying run at the plate to end the game and give the Lady Saints a 2-1 win over the Busters in the quarterfinal round.

Pokey Ewell has been named the Jayhawk West Player of the Week for the first time in her rookie season with the Lady Saints while sophomore lefty Katelyn Craker earns her third Pitcher of the Week honor.

It went about just as well as it could go for two Seward County sophomore pitchers on Sophomore Day at Lady Saints Field on Friday. Playing in their final home games of their Seward County careers, hurlers Katelyn Craker and Brittany Hopkins stymied the Pratt Lady Beavers, each tossing shutouts in 8-0 and 7-0 wins for the Lady Saints.

Just when you thought the Jekyll and Hyde Lady Saints were gone and past, they showed up again Tuesday afternoon in Clarendon. After hammering Clarendon 22-1 in game one of their non-conference doubleheader, Seward inexplicably lost the second game of the twinbill 8-6 to the 12-28 Bulldogs.
