Bio

CHASE ASHLEY enters his second season as head coach of the Saints and Lady Saints tennis programs in 2017-18 after spending two seasons as the Assistant Coach.

In his first year as head coach, Ashley led the Saints to new heights, winning 17 matches (2nd Most All-Time), while winning the Jayhawk West and Region VI Championships for a 4th straight year.  He led the Saints to a 3rd place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament - the highest in program history - while leading two singles players and a doubles team to runner-up finishes to land four players on the All-American team, after having only one in program history.  Three Saints were also named to the ITA All-American team for their efforts.  On the women's side, Ashley led the Saints to a repeat of Jayhawk West and Region VI Championships, while finishing 6th at the NCJAA National Tournament.  He also had an ITA All-American on the Lady Saints.

As the Assistant Coach, Ashley helped guide both Seward programs to top 5 finishes at the NJCAA National Tournament, with the Saints ending in 4th and the Lady Saints in 5th. The Saints and Lady Saints combined for 33 wins in 2016-17, including both winning the Region VI Tournament Championship.

Ashley watched as both Seward programs had historic finishes in 2015-2016, each notching top 10 finishes at the NJCAA National Tournament. The Saints and Lady Saints combined for 31 wins in 2016 and the Seward men's program collected the Region VI Tournament Championship for just the second time in school history.

Ashley came to the Seward County program after a successful five year stint (one year as the Men's Assistant and four years as the Head Women's Tennis Coach) at Union High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  While at Union, Ashley significantly improved the Lady Redskins program into a top five team in the state. Through the years, Ashley has had the privilege to work with many athletes that have had great success at the high school and college level.  Before guiding Union High, Ashley began his coaching career at Tahlequah High School in Tahlequah, Oklahoma while going to college and received his Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Education from Northeastern State University.

In his free time he enjoys going to sporting events and spending time with family and friends. He is originally from Henryetta, Oklahoma where he was an all-state athlete in tennis.
