Saints win easily against Colorado College

GREELEY, Colo. – The third-ranked Seward County Community College men's tennis team got back on the winning track with an easy 5-0 victory over Colorado College on Sunday. After a grueling loss to Division I University of Northern Colorado, the Saints cruised to its seventh win in eight matches and improved to 10-5 overall.

Seward started out strong by winning all three won all three doubles points. No. 1 Nic Rousset and Sander Jans defeated Noah Forman and Daniel Holland, 8-2, No. 2 Gabe Nery and Francisco Vargas knocked off Jacob Adas and Christian Kitchen, 8-2 and No. 3 Hiro Ikeda and Nyathi Motlojoa completed the sweep with an 8-2 win over Alex Kley and Alex Wimer.

In singles, the teams played until the first one reached five points or clinched. Seward clinched with No. 1 Rousset defeating Forman, 7-6, 6-4, and No. 2 Vargas beating Holland, 6-2, 6-0. The Saints captured the first five points.

The other matches were unfinished, but Seward was leading in all of them. No. 3 Carlo Izurieta was ahead, 6-2, No. 4 Franck Soulerot was leading, 6-2, 1-0, No. 5 Nyathi Motlojoa was up, 6-2 and No. 6 Hiro Ikeda was on top, 3-0.

The Saints play at Barton Community College on Wednesday.
