Saints Won't Repeat As Champs in 2014

The whirlwind of emotions that has led the Seward County Saints top doubles team to the 2014 ITA National Tournament in Sumter, South Carolina is now over after Seward's #1 pair of Ronzai Saurombe and Felipe Casares were defeated in the opening round of the tournament to end their hopes of repeating as tournament champs in 2014.
From losing in the Region Championships on Saturday, feeling like their season was over, to getting the call as an at-large to the tournament on Tuesday, Seward County's Ronzai Saurombe and Felipe Casares went from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs last week en route to a 2014 ITA National Tournament bid.  The Saints took the court Thursday afternoon on the East Coast opposite the #2 seed in the tournament, Josh Page and Austin Smith of Abraham Baldwin.  Saurombe and Casares simply couldn't get anything going on their side, falling 6-2 in the first before watching the Mustangs match that with another 6-2 win in the second set to end their run at a repeat.
The Saints duo will now have to try to make something out of the trip in the consolation bracket where they will coincidentally take on Alex Clerihew and Ian Sioux of Seminole State on Friday, a pair that they played in the Region Tournament Championship just two weeks ago.
