The Saints fall 77-58 at Coffeyville

COFFEYVILLE, Kan. - Seward County Community College falls at Coffeyville Community College 77-58 on Monday, January 31st. The Saints are now 9-14 on the season and 6-11 in conference play. Seward County will finish their three-game road trip on Wednesday night as they take on Independence Community College at 7 PM CT.

Seward County trailed early 8-2 but battled back to get within one 12-11 early in the first half. The Saints took the lead for the first time with 10 minutes on the clock 16-15. Coffeyville responded with a 14-2 run to take a 29-18 advantage over Seward County with five minutes left in the half. At halftime, the Saints faced a 34-24 deficit to the Red Ravens in Coffeyville, Kansas.

In the second half, Seward County continued to trail Coffeyville, and with 15:06 left the Red Ravens held a 40-33 lead. The Saints fought back to cut the lead down to a two-possession game with Seward County down 54-48. Coffeyville once again went on a 9-2 run to take a 63-50 advantage with 3:21 remaining. The Saints could not climb back from the deficit as the Red Ravens closed out the game to win 77-58. 

The Saints were led by Taye Donald with 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists. Branton "Bee" McCrary and Kevon Cooper both tallied 10 points and six rebounds in their starting roles for Seward County.

The Saints will take on the Pirates from Independence at 7 PM CT on Wednesday, February 2nd.
