Morcency, Flowers lead Saints to fifth straight win with victory over Trojans

Marco Morency and Montrevion Flowers each had career highs in scoring to power the No. 17 Seward County Community College men's basketball team to a 101-86 win over the Colby Trojans on Wednesday at the Greenhouse.

Morency had 25 points and Flowers netted 24 to power the Saints to their fifth straight victory. Seward stays atop the Jayhawk West at 15-3 and 22-5 overall.

Flowers was perfect from the field, going 8-of-8, including six three-pointers and going 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Morency made 7-of-15 shots with three three-pointers and eight points from the charity stripe.

Devin Bethely added 21 points and 11 assists while Isiah Small chipped in with 15 points for the Saints, who tied a season-high with 14 three pointers.

Colby's Eddie Davis led all scorers with 27 points. Rian Carter had 17 points, Craig Beaudion scored 14 points and Caleb Jones-McCrary chipped in with 13 points for the Trojans, who fell to 11-6 in conference play and 16-10 overall.

Seward travels to Great Bend to play Barton County at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
