63 Saints/Lady Saints Earn Way Onto AD Honor Roll

The 2015-2016 school year proved to be more than just a successful one on the court and in the fields for the Seward County student-athletes as Wednesday it was announced that 63 of 99 student-athletes made their way onto the Spring 2016 Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
Delano Jones Signs With Cameron

Saints rifleman Delano Jones signed on the dotted line Tuesday in the All-American Room at Seward County, making NCAA Division II Cameron University his choice for the final two years of his basketball and academic career.
All-American Niem Stevenson Inks with Texas Tech

After a long and heated recruiting journey over the past six months, Seward County All-American Niem Stevenson has finally decided a landing spot for the final two years of his collegiate career. Tuesday, the Dallas native signed to return to the Lone Star State, taking his talents to Lubbock to join the Texas Tech Red Raiders next season.
Legendary Saints Walton & Houston Soar Into Seward Hall of Fame

Two of the greatest Saints to ever don a Seward County jersey were enshrined into the Saints Athletics Hall of Fame Friday night at the annual Athletics/Hall of Fame Banquet in the Greenhouse. Carlo Walton and Kevin Houston, both Men’s Basketball All-American’s returned to Liberal for the weekend, sharing stories with the crowd of their glory days with the Saints in the mid-90’s.
Niem Stevenson Becomes Saints First Two-Time NJCAA All-American

In the 47 years of Seward County Men’s Basketball, there has been a book full of history written which has included records set and records broken, first, seconds, and thirds of many different things, but with the release of Thursday’s NJCAA All-Americans list, Saint sophomore Niem Stevenson made a piece of history that has never been done before at Seward County. Stevenson was named a 1st Team NJCAA All-American, in and of itself a feat, the first time a Seward player has been named 1st Team All-American since 2012, but more historically, Stevenson becomes the first Seward player in program history to ever be named NJCAA All-American twice after receiving Honorable Mention accolades in 2014.

The trophy case at the Stevenson household has to be getting quite full and Wednesday, another major award went the way of Seward County sophomore Niem Stevenson as he was named a 1st Team All-Region VI selection, adding to his impressive collection accumulated during his Saints career.

With one player wrapping up his sophomore season and one wrapping his freshman campaign, a pair of Seward County Saints were honored by the Jayhawk Conference on Monday as Niem Stevenson was named a 1st Team All-Conference member for the second time while Charles Beauregard was picked to the 2nd Team.
Stevenson Wraps Sophomore Season With Another Player of the Week Award

It was a fitting end in more than one way Wednesday as the Jayhawk Conference released its final KJCCC Player of the Week award winners for Men's Basketball. For the final week of the regular season, Seward County's Niem Stevenson and Hutchinson's Bashier Ahmed, two high level athletes that went at it all year long, share the award, Stevenson's seventh time to collect the honors this season and tenth time in his career which sets a school record.
Saints Blown Out to Bring Season to Disappointing End

The Seward County Saints 2015-2016 season came to an abrupt halt Thursday night in the Perryman Center in Garden City as Seward trailed from the opening tip in a 116-93 loss to the rival Garden City Broncbusters, marking the first time in 10 seasons that the Saints dropped their 1st round Region VI Tournament game.
Saints Lose Fourth Straight, On the Road For Playoffs

It was the end of the regular season Monday night in the Greenhouse and with a loss to visiting Colby, it made it an end of an era for Saints fans as falling 87-81, the Greenhouse faithful have seen their last of one of the best players in Seward County history, Niem Stevenson as Seward will be on the road for the first round of the 2016 Region VI Tournament beginning on Thursday.

Saints Defense Provides Little Resistance as Slide Continues

Seward County Head Coach Bryan Zollinger has been preaching toughness and grit through his team’s recent struggles down the stretch in Jayhawk Conference play but yet again Saturday afternoon in Dodge City, he saw little of that as the Saints gave up 46 first half points and couldn’t slow the Conquistadors down enough in the second half to prevent their sixth loss in seven games to assure themselves of back to back losing conference records for the first time in 10 seasons.

The Seward County Saints struggles continued Wednesday night in Garden City’s Perryman Center as the guys in green put together another forgettable performance, losing to the host Broncbusters 91-77 to all of a sudden put their home playoff hopes in serious jeopardy.

In a season that has been filled with near misses, the Seward County Saints added another to their list of frustrating last second losses on Monday, allowing a tip in with under one second remaining in overtime to fall to the Colby Trojans 84-82.
Saints Secure Season Sweep of Cougars

The Seward County Saints finished off a regular season sweep of the Barton Cougars Saturday night in front of a big Homecoming Greenhouse crowd. Opposite of what has happened too many times to Seward this season, this time it was the Saints having a big second half on the offensive end, outscoring Barton 46-38 to come away with a heated 86-82 victory.
