SCCC offers a two-year Associate in Science Degree program, which emphasizes the number one concern of any athletic training program; the health and welfare of the athlete. This program is designed to give students a solid foundation in proper prevention, care, and rehabilitation techniques for various athletic injuries or conditions.

When you complete the Sports Medicine course of study at Seward County Community College, you will be prepared to pursue a variety of options within the Sports Medicine profession. Our associate’s degree program provides you with a broad knowledge based on the sciences, mathematics, sports medicine, and communications. The rigor and challenge of a sports medicine career are evident in the types of courses, course load, and time management skills required in the associate's degree program. If you enjoy health care, working with people, and athletics, the Sports Medicine program may be a good option for you to explore.

Sports Medicine has a wide variety of career opportunities: Athletic trainer at a college, high school, or clinic, Physical Therapist, Orthopedic Physician, and Physician's Assistant.

Your SCCC sports medicine department advisor will help you plan your course of study and will outline the specific requirements for the completion of an associate's degree. You need to contact the Admissions Office to visit the campus and meet with the head athletic trainer at the time of your visit. The Sports Medicine program is designed to prepare a student for transfer into an accredited curriculum at the University of the student's choice.
